By accessing or using the services provided by OpenSentinel ("Project," "we," "our," or "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.
OpenSentinel is an open-source, self-hosted AI assistant platform. We provide the software, documentation, and related resources for users to deploy and operate on their own infrastructure. We may also provide hosted services, support, and enterprise features.
The OpenSentinel software is released under the MIT License. You are free to use, modify, and distribute the software in accordance with the terms of that license. These Terms of Service apply to your use of our website, hosted services, and any support or enterprise offerings.
Open Source Code: The OpenSentinel codebase is licensed under the MIT License. You retain all rights granted under that license.
Your Data: You retain all rights to data you process through your self-hosted OpenSentinel deployment. We never access, collect, or store your data when you self-host.
Trademarks: The OpenSentinel name, logo, and branding are our trademarks. The MIT License does not grant trademark rights.
OpenSentinel integrates with third-party services (LLM providers, Home Assistant, GitHub, Spotify, etc.). Your use of those services is governed by their respective terms. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of third-party services.
Payment terms for any paid services or enterprise agreements will be specified in individual agreements. Unless otherwise stated, invoices are due within 30 days of receipt. All fees are non-refundable unless otherwise specified in writing.
Both parties agree to maintain the confidentiality of any proprietary or sensitive information shared during the course of any engagement. This obligation survives the termination of our business relationship.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, OpenSentinel shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly. The software is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the total amount paid by you for any paid services in the 12 months preceding the claim.
The software is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the software will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet all of your requirements. You are responsible for your own deployment, backups, and security.
Since OpenSentinel is self-hosted open-source software, you may stop using it at any time. For any paid services or enterprise agreements, either party may terminate with written notice. Upon termination of paid services, you are responsible for payment for all services rendered.
These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to our website. Your continued use of our services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
